The Ohio State Lung Center is the only comprehensive pulmonary center in central Ohio. The Lung Center offers state-of-the-art clinical programs in a wide variety of lung disease including asthma, COPD, interstitial lung disease and pulmonary vascular disease. The Lung Center supports the region’s only lung transplantation and lung volume reduction surgery programs.
The Lung Center also supports cutting edge clinical and translational research including NIH-funded single- and multi-center trials, and industry sponsored multi-center trials. Research is supported by Ohio State’s College of Medicine Clinical Trials Management Organization (CTMO), a centralized administrative infrastructure for the management of patient-oriented non-cancer research studies. Clinical and translational research including NIH-funded single- and multi-center trials, and industry sponsored multi-center trials is supported by 190 research staff members (e.g., study coordinators/nurses, clinical research managers, fiscal officers, regulatory compliance officers).
