I quit smoking in May 2018 and started getting yearly lung cancer screening scans in November 2018; they never showed any problems with my lungs.

I started receiving low-dose CT scans in 2015 because my insurance began covering them, and my primary care physician strongly recommended I get them.
Wow I don’t even know where to start other than I am the perfect advocate for low dose lung screening as it saved my life.
I’m writing today to share why getting a CT lung scan is so important.
I smoked cigarettes, on and off for 40 years. At my annual physical, my primary doctor, said I should get scanned. He saved my life by doing so.
I was screened on my own, as I had been a smoker for 38 years, having quit for eight at that time. My cancer was caught at stage one and I had the top lobe of my lung removed.
I got screened last week with a low dose CT and it showed Stage-1 Emphysema.
