Jerry A. Krishnan, MD, PhD, is Professor of Medicine and Public Health and Associate Vice Chancellor for Population Health Sciences in the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Health Affairs at the University of Illinois Hospital & Health Sciences System (UI Health). He provides enterprise-level oversight for developing, testing and implementing healthcare interventions that improve care, outcomes and affordability of healthcare.
Dr. Krishnan is a pulmonologist who provides care to patients with asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). His work in health care delivery science, including clinical effectiveness and implementation research, is sponsored by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) / National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute (NHLBI) and the Patient Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI). He serves as chair or co-chair of the ERS/ATS COPD exacerbations guideline committee, NIH/NHLBI Clinical Trials Review Committee and the PCORI Improving Healthcare Systems Merit Review Panel. He previously chaired the U.S. Food and Drug Administration Pulmonary-Allergy Drugs Advisory Committee.
