Jeremy Adam Weingarten, MD, MBA, MS, is the chief of a busy division of pulmonary and critical care medicine at a major community-based teaching hospital in Brooklyn, NY. He is actively involved in the training of nine pulmonary and critical care fellows and specifically involved in their research activities. Dr. Weingarten has obtained a master’s degree in epidemiology at Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health in order to learn and apply research methodology, which is particularly helpful in managing ACRC Network studies. His group has completed an investigator-initiated RCT on flutter valve therapy in acute exacerbation of COPD (Milan, S, et al. Int J Chron Obstruct Pulmon Dis. 2019 Nov 20;14:2553-2561. PMID 31819393) and participated as a clinical site in a DOD-sponsored multicenter RCT on beta-blockers in acute exacerbation of COPD (Dransfield, MT, et al. N Engl J Med. 2019 Dec 12;381(24):2304-2314. PMID 31633896).

Dr. Weinggarten has had no disruptions to his education/career. His clinical responsibilities and research experiences have prepared him for participating as the institutional PI at NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital.
