Reply to: Selecting the Right Patient: The Achille’s Heel of COPD Clinical Trials – American Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine

This letter to the editor responds to comments from the research community regarding the major ACRC study that examined using Losartan to slow emphysema progression. This is important as it gives context and lessons learned from this large trial, and a new direction for new biomarkers on specimens already collected in the study. Co-authors Drs. Robert Wise and Janet Holbrook are ACRC investigators, and together direct the ACRC Data Coordinating Center at Johns Hopkins University.
