Predictors and associations of the persistent airflow limitation phenotype in asthma: a post-hoc analysis of the ATLANTIS study – The Lancet Respiratory Medicine
This study found that persistent airflow limitation (PAL) was prevalent not just in severe asthma, but also in many mild asthmatics in the sample. This finding is important because it suggests that mild asthmatics who have PAL should be treated earlier and more extensively, which will improve symptoms and quality of life.
