Phenotypes of disease severity in a cohort of hospitalized COVID-19 patients: results from the IMPACC study – medRxiv

This study categorized the immune response of 1,164 patients hospitalized for COVID-19 to determine risk factors for disease severity, finding that patients with the fewest antibodies had the worst outcomes, and women were at greatest risk for long COVID. This is important to understand acute and long COVID-19 treatment. Co-author Dr. C. Terri Hough is funded by the Lung Association COVID-19 award, and Drs. Monica Kraft, Prescott G. Woodruff, and Christian Bime are ACRC investigators.
