This study showed that a unique type of T cell (which are involved in immune responses) called Vδ1 is linked to better survival in nonsmall-cell lung cancer patients. These findings will lead to new therapies involving Vδ1 T-cells into immunotherapy for nonsmall-cell lung cancer. This research was supported by the American Lung Association in partnership with Stand Up To Cancer and LUNGevity, through the Lung Cancer Interception Dream Team Translational Research Grant.
