Evaluating the Relationship of Airflow Obstruction in COPD with Severity of OSA Among Patients with Overlap Syndrome – International Journal of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease
This study looked at 273 COPD patients with overlap syndrome and found no significant relationship between the severity of airflow obstruction and severity of their obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). This research is important because it highlights the complex nature of breathing issues during sleep, leading to further research within COPD disease subtypes. Senior author Dr. Valerie Press was awarded the American Lung Association Innovation award in 2020 for her work in COPD.
