Across the United States, more than 34 million people are living with lung disease including 11.7 million Americans with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), 26.8 million (including 4.5 million children) with asthma, and each year, 500 to 1,000 people are diagnosed with pulmonary arterial hypertension.

Recent events have highlighted the critical needs of people living with a chronic lung disease. These needs include:

  • Access to the appropriate type and modality of supplemental oxygen (as needed)
  • Protecting access to quality, affordable healthcare coverage

  • Support permanent reauthorization of enhanced healthcare tax credits;
  • Co-sponsor the Supplemental Oxygen Access Reform (SOAR) Act to ensure Medicare beneficiaries' access to supplemental oxygen (S3821/HR 7829/ to help people live active lives; and
  • Support robust, predictable and sustained investments for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the National Institutes of Health (NIH) to improve our nation’s lung health.

You can support the efforts of our Lung Champions by:
