I live in New York City, but my passion is the great outdoors. I like to run outside, but always feel so winded, even when avoiding the streets and sticking to the greenways. I love living and working in the city because it provides so many opportunities for career advancement and the spread of ideas.
Unfortunately, the air is making it harder and harder to justify being here, and honestly, when I'm ready to have children I will definitely leave. The amount of chemicals in the air, as well as our water, food, and cleaning products is most certainly contributing to birth defects and childhood disorders.
We may be helping our economy now at the price of our health, but an unhealthy workforce cannot sustain a strong economy.
