4DMedical Champions Veterans’ Lung Health; Partners with American Lung Association on Fight For Air Climb Tampa

New “Above and Beyond” Award debuts at Fight For Air Climb Tampa on April 5 at Bank of America Plaza

The American Lung Association in Florida is recognizing 4DMedical for its contributions to veterans’ lung health and the Gulf Coast community. The veteran-led company has signed on to present the first-ever “Above and Beyond” award at the 20th annual Fight For Air Climb Tampa on April 5. The award will honor the top fundraising veteran or service member.

“As a veteran-led company, we have a deep understanding of lung health issues that impact military personnel and are committed to developing leading-edge technology to better enable diagnosis and treatment,” said Hailey Carmichael, director of Clinical Education at 4DMedical and member of the Lung Association’s Gulf Coast Leadership Board. “We are proud to partner with the American Lung Association to raise awareness for the veteran community.”

Lung health and preventing lung disease is a significant concern for military veterans, service members and contractors. Deployment locations and job-related functions may increase the risk of developing lung disease, including exposure to open-air burn pits, oil well fires, sand and dust particulates, diesel exhaust and other airborne contaminants. Respiratory symptoms, such as coughing, wheezing, chest pain or worsening asthma, may not appear until years after exposure and could be a warning sign of lung disease. Information and resources for veterans to safeguard their lung health are available at Lung.org/veterans. Learn more about 4DMedical’s lung function imaging for veterans here.

The Tampa Climb will take place at Bank of America Plaza, the city’s second-tallest skyscraper. Hundreds of participants will climb 42 floors, 914 stairs, to the top, while raising awareness and critical funds for people living with lung disease. 90 cents of each dollar raised supports the Lung Association’s mission of creating a world free of lung cancer and lung disease.

Carmichael added: “We’re encouraging our community to meet us on the stairs and register today at ClimbTampa.org.”
