ORLANDO, FL | October 20, 2020
Today, the American Lung Association in Florida announced the celebrity lineup for the 3rd annual Lip Sync For Lungs on November 11. The event will feature performances by local business leaders, lawyers and even a transplant pulmonologist.
For Lip Sync For Lungs, local celebrities execute lip sync performances to songs of their choice, all to win the top spot of Lip Sync Battle Champion. The event, which typically takes place at Sak Comedy Lounge, was reimagined to offer two options to participate – drive-in movie theater live stream viewing at Ace Cafe in Downtown Orlando or a live stream ticket option to view from the safety of your home.
“This fun event will take these well-known Orlando professionals out of their comfort zones and highlight them under bright stage lights,” said Janelle Hom, executive director for the Lung Association. “We are honored to have such incredible people involved with our event. We expect lively performances, all to raise money for critical lung cancer research, to address COVID-19 in the hardest hit communities and help local people manage their lung disease.”
The celebrity performers include:
- Brandon Sapp and The Young Lawyers: Sapp is the current president of the Young Lawyers Section of the Orange County Bar Association. He began his legal career as a public defender in the Ninth Judicial Circuit and is now an associate attorney at de Beaubien, Simmons, Knight, Mantzaris, and Neal.
- Lauren Muser: Muser is the area director for one of Orlando’s most popular outdoor and virtual group fitness companies, Camp Gladiator.
- June Kim, MD, and Barry Friedman, RN, BSN: Dr. Kim is a transplant pulmonologist for AdventHealth Orlando. She has more than 10 years of experience caring for patients with advanced lung disease. Joining Dr. Kim on stage will be Barry Friedman, executive director of the AdventHealth Transplant Institute. Friedman has 30 years of clinical/administrative experience in healthcare and organ transplantation.
- Billy Jo Clark: Clark is the North American sales manager for Beyond the Bed. He has more than 20 years of experience in the travel and tourism industry. Clark is also the co-founder of Gays on the Move, an organization that strives to enrich the LGBTQ+ community and its allies through social events, sports and fundraising.
