Empower to Sponsor Annual Fight For Air Climb Event

Family-friendly climb will be back in the building in March

The American Lung Association in Kansas and Greater Kansas City is happy to announce Empower will be the presenting sponsor of the 9th Annual Fight For Air Climb in Kansas City. Hundreds of climbers are expected to participate in the family-friendly event on Sunday March 3rd.

The annual tradition will be back in the building at One Kansas City Place as participants climb to raise awareness and funds to help find a cure for lung disease.

“We are honored to be the presenting sponsor of the Fight For Air Climb to help bring awareness to the Lung Association’s mission,” said Steve Jenks, chief marketing officer at Empower. “This event is an opportunity for everyone to come together and raise money for education and research to help end lung disease.”

The Fight For Air Climb Kansas City is open to climbers of all fitness levels, families and corporate teams from across the area. Participants in this year’s event can challenge themselves by climbing 42 floors, totaling 902 steps.

“Our Climb event is a great venue for people to literally step up to help end lung disease,” said Linda Crider, executive director of the Lung Association. “From our local services and programs to research we provide throughout Kansas and Greater Kansas City, none of our lung health efforts would be possible without our fantastic supporters.”

The first wave of climbers will begin making their way up One Kansas City Place at 8:30 a.m.
