I stopped smoking overnight in 2011 during a lung cancer diagnosis that turned out to be pneumonia. Every other year since my doctor scheduled a scan. This week was like any other, but the scan says I have emphysema. If it weren't for the scans, I wouldn't know this early!! I am so grateful I know early so together, my doctor and I can work on slowing the process!! Living where forest fires and smoke are so prevalent, I am thankful that with early diagnosis, I will survive.
