My name is Tashona and on February 2,2021 I went into cardiac arrest. My oldest daughter found me in the bedroom unresponsive and called 911. They came and did CPR and rushed me to the hospital where I again went into cardiac arrest. I was admitted and they did blood work and testing because I was bleeding from my GI track.
When the test came back they told my family I had tested positive for COVID-19 and all my kidneys had begun to shut down. They transported me to a hospital in Bethesda were I was put on a ventilator for three weeks and had to start dialysis. I also developed congestive heart failure. I then caught pneumonia twice and had to have a feeding tube in my stomach because I was severely malnourished and weighed only 60 pounds. I woke up after being on a ventilator for three weeks only to find out my kidneys had shut down completely. I am now on dialysis three times a week, and I have type 2 diabetes, congestive heart failure ande anemia. COVID is very much real to me because I almost lost my life.
