I want to share that I lost my dad on February 3, 2021 to lung cancer, stage IV, metastasized. He was 82 years old. My father smoked for years, since he was 16 years old. He was active, ate well and was married to the love of his life, my mother, for 57 years. My mom had Alzheimer's and he had been taking care of my mom for over two years, and as such he did not take such good care of himself. I say this as he had a cough and he thought it was a sinus infection.

It was not, he was losing weight, not eating and tired all the time. I then, along with my brother, asked him to please go to the doctor.

He finally went to see the doctor on January 13 and entered hospice on January 27 and died on February 3. I want to share my story to share with others when your family or friends are going through a difficult time and see something wrong, act on it quickly! He smoked and sneaked smoking and we tried our best, but it was not good enough. My mother passed three months later and I miss them both very much. I want to help others and share my story if it will help others.
