Thirteen years ago I watched my mother die a very unpleasant death from lung cancer. A year later I was in the E.R. twice with asthma and have allergies but am doing much better since the ALA office in Colonie New York gave me the name of a local asthma/allergy expert several years ago.
I spent 5 years getting allergy shots and haven't had an asthma attack since. They think my problems were from growing up in a house full of smokers.
Two years ago the doctor wanted to put me in the hospital because I had pneumonia. Luckily I did okay at home and all is well now. I'm thankful for all the support from family, my doctor and ALA.
