Sally G.

I was diagnosed with lung cancer and had surgery in August 2013. Six months later, I climbed 38 flights to the top of Louisville's National City Tower in just over 16 minutes! As a participant in the American Lung Association's inaugural Fight for Air Climb, this was truly the climb of my life! I have also enjoyed being a part of the American Lung Association's October Big Screen Bash. Getting to share my story with the audience in 2014 was wonderful. I thank the American Lung Association for their continued support of cutting edge research in lung cancer treatments.

The American Lung Association in Kentucky staff, volunteers and supporters are saddened by the death of LUNG FORCE Hero, Sally G. Our Sally was diagnosed with lung cancer and had surgery in August 2013. Shortly after her surgery Sally became involved as an event participant, volunteer, spokesperson, donor and advocate for our organization's mission. The memory of Sally's beautiful smile in the face of adversity and her courage during a five-year battle with lung cancer will continue to be an inspiration to all of us.
