Monica B., MI

My diagnosis of stage 4 lung cancer was on March 6, 2014. Speechless and devastated, we faced a 12 month prognosis. Fortunately, I tested positive for the ALK gene which allows me to take pills daily to keep the growths at bay. This cancer metastasized to my retina at the time of diagnosis and to my brain in August, 2014. I have had eye and full brain radiation. I am on my second lung cancer pill and recently lost my eye to radiation retinopathy. We need more research so we can have hope to fight and survive this deadly disease.
