On April 2, 2019, my mom passed away after living with COPD for about 15 years and fighting pneumonia one too many times. She was a wife, mom, Grammy, aunt, niece, friend - so much to so many. She did what she could - from trying to eat as she should, exercise even when it was hard, go to lung rehab, and educational classes by her local lung association. People do not realize just how many aspects of life lung disease effects, and the many challenges those who live with it face - from controlling your emotions because it can make you not be able to breathe, to struggling in even the slightest of temperature changes. She fought a good long fight, and is missed every day, and we walk so that maybe others may be aware, and may be helped, and may find hope and encouragement.
