I am a three time lung cancer survivor. Three years ago, I was diagnosed with stage 3a lung cancer. It went to my lymph nodes. I had to have radiation and chemo and of course, I got sick and could not do the last chemo. I was thought I was cured after that. Then a year later, it returned, this time as brain cancer and lung cancer at the same time. I had my left lower lung removed and a brain tumor. I fought and I thought I won, then it came back to the top left lung. More radiation and cured again, hopefully for good.
There are days you have to be your own doctor. You have to watch everything they do for you. I had one tell me he can't operate on me. Well, he pulled up the wrong scan. It's a good thing I Iooked at the date. He had told me to go home and live my life, it's over. I did not believe that, so check it all yourself. Doctors are human too and have a lot on their plate. I thank God for them every day no matter what.
I will continue to fight each time I get it. God has spared me for a reason, and I don't know why that is. I continue to live a good life and deal with whatever comes my way. I am not ready to go, I have too much to do and live for. My husband, son and my 5 shih tzus are my reason to live and to help other people. I stay happy even when I am sick - I won't let cancer win. I believe in staying happy and having as much fun as I can - grooming my dog, kayaking, paddle boarding, biking, hiking, reading and staying as healthy as I can. Keep fighting.
