My husband and I were given a diagnosis of my having lung cancer last week, although I'd been having health issues since July that were lung-related. I'm having a couple of biopsies tomorrow on a rib and lymph nodes as it seems to have shown up on the PET scan in several places.
Radiation and/or surgery are not options, and I began chemo on 10/16/16. I've had no side effects from the first treatment and I go in for the second treatment today, 10/22/16.
My husband and I are still processing the news and we're hanging onto the emotional roller coaster as best we can. I've been extremely healthy all my life and, at 71, this was a real shock.
My oncologist is optimistic as is his staff and I'm not ready to get on the bus just yet.
