Cancer - the one word you never want to hear. That one word that does not discriminate no matter who you are.  In 2011, at age 35, my husband was diagnosed with Stage 4 Lung Cancer. He was a young, healthy non-smoker that was full of life and passionate for helping others. He was the Dean of Students and Athletic Director at an area high school and before that, a social studies teacher, and softball and basketball coach. My husband lived a short life of serving others and to this day, we are constantly reminded of his kindness by his former students, colleagues and friends. He was definitely someone you do not forget. From his quick smile, his ability to make you laugh with one-liners, and the way he fathered our two young daughters, his memory will live on forever.
