Ashley B., NJ

My mother, Maureen, has struggled with back problems for years, enduring five back surgeries over time.

On December 25, 2024, she had a fall early in the morning. Later that evening, after dinner, she decided to go to the hospital to get checked out. That’s when we received devastating news: the doctors suspected cancer, most likely lung cancer.

After further testing, about two and a half weeks later, the diagnosis was confirmed—stage 4 lung cancer.

As I write this, we are still waiting for additional test results to determine her treatment plan. In the meantime, her health has been declining. She has very little strength, barely eats, is often confused, and drinks only small amounts of fluids.

I continue to research everything I can about this disease and pray every day that my mom can beat cancer and come back home to us.
