Approximately six years ago our next door neighbors built an outdoor fireplace with a chimney only 12' high. They burn wood and other toxic materials almost non-stop regardless of the time of year and many days it goes directly over our house as well as throughout the block. We have asked them repeatedly to stop, have called the police, the fire marshall and the EPA but are always told these neighbors are within their rights. Second-hand smoke is a killer but they not only do not care about the health and safety of their neighbors, or the planet but are deliberately setting these noxious fires and in many cases, leaving the premises, which is illegal.
