In February 2012, I was living in Seoul. I felt sick and was told I had pneumonia and the flu. After being hospitalized with hyponatremia, many tests were done.
I woke up two days after arriving at the hospital. A CT scan showed I had pulmonary tuberculosis. I am so thankful for those who were there for me and called 119 (the emergency number in Korea), the medical staff who found what was wrong, and the months of antibiotics that helped me heal.
When I signed up for the Detroit International Half-Marathon, they asked if we had any story to tell about why we were running it. For me, running is a reminder of the gift of healing I received!
