Joyanna G. Kleinmaier, known as Joy, is a distinguished executive with a robust career in business development, strategy, and mergers and acquisitions. She most recently served as the Executive Vice President and Chief Business Development Officer at American Specialty Health, Inc., where she led strategic growth initiatives, driving the company's market positioning and expansion efforts.
Prior, Joy was Senior Vice President of Strategy, Business Development, and Market Analytics at Indiana University Health. There, she guided strategy development and execution for Indiana's largest and nationally ranked academic health system, managing key clinical partnerships and significant market expansion initiatives, extending the reach of clinical care throughout the state.
Before moving to the provider side of healthcare, Joy was Advisor to the CEO and Director of M&A Integration at WellPoint, Inc. (now Elevance), She successfully managed the $4.7 billion divestiture of WellPoint NextRx to Express Scripts and led the integrations of CareMore and AmeriGroup, significantly expanding market reach.
Joy began her career with a foundation in finance at JPMorgan Chase, where she held leadership positions in Operations, Investment Banking, Integration and Strategy for over a dozen years. Highlights include serving as the lead for the Treasury division during the JPMorgan / Bank One merger, directing strategy formulation for a global call center architecture, leading the centralization of global foreign exchange settlement, and two separate expatriate assignments.
Joy's academic credentials include an MBA from Columbia Business School and a BS from Cornell University. She is actively involved in community service, holding leadership roles with the American Lung Association, the Indiana Repertory Theatre, the Indianapolis 2023 NBA All-Star Game Host City Committee, and several other nonprofit organizations. Joy's commitment to service extends to providing care through the Stephen Ministry and hosting at-risk children through Safe Families for Children.
